The goal was to make it easier for parents to find new and exciting things to do with their kids, through creating a bespoke, modern and accessible web directory. The website had to be fast, easy to navigate and importantly reflect the Go Munkee brand.
The website was built using WordPress to take advantage of its robust user and content management systems. The blog was to be a key part of the website and we also wanted to keep this central to the rest of website. We also wanted a user-friendly operating environment that future workers on the project could easily get to grips with.
The website was designed using the popular Bootstrap framework for speed and responsiveness across all devices.
User-submitted content – An important feature to help populate the site with activities and places to visit is the ability for organisers to create and manage their own listings. This can be managed within the secure organiser user area.
Favourites System – Parents can save activities into their own user area with the “Love” button.
Advanced filtering – The ability to personalise results with filters is key to the central aim of making it easy for parents to find activities they and their children would like to visit.
Geo-location search – Straight from the off, searches can be tailored to the searchers location, a specific town or a radius around either.
After working very closely with the client to create a bespoke online directory that met their exact needs, we are pleased to say that Go Munkee is now fully operational and has been passed onto their marketing team with full documentation to manage the many facets and functions of the website.
We are pleased to say that the client was very happy with the end-result and Go Munkee is fast becoming the go-to online resource for “things to do for kids” in Kent with thousands of searches monthly.
Dzines Digital is now working on a bespoke web directory API with extended functionality which can be rolled out into many more applications.
