Problem

Dover Foodbank faced significant challenges with its paper-based stock control system, leading to inefficiencies and inaccuracies in managing its inventory. The manual process of tracking spreadsheets, physically counting items, and dealing with lost or misplaced paperwork was not sustainable, especially given the volume of food processed weekly.

Objective

The project aimed to develop a user-friendly web app to streamline in-store order processing, manage stock levels effectively and provide a normalized shopping experience for customers. Additionally, the public-facing website's public-facing website's goal was to offer an intuitive user experience, making it easier for the community to engage with the foodbank's services.

Delivery

The project included in-person and digital training for foodbank staff to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. Ongoing support was provided to address any issues and make necessary adjustments. The collaborative approach, combined with iterative testing and feedback, ensured the final solutions were well-tailored to the Foodbank's needs.

Outcome

The new web app has transformed the foodbank's operations, providing staff with instant access to stock levels, locations, and expiry dates, saving at least 10 hours of administrative work weekly. The public website's redesign has made it more accessible and user-friendly, enhancing community engagement.

Client Review

Tony started working with us last year on a council funded project to support our ever-growing foodbank. He and his team got to know us and fully immersed themselves in understanding our ways of working and challenges prior to our website and bespoke App build. Throughout the process he was awesome and with a few tweaks on the way we now have an amazing new website which will further support our community. In addition, we have a stock control and shop App that is unique within our charity network. Nothing was too much trouble, and we have a great relationship that fully supports us in the years ahead. Thanks Tony.
